Mission Statement:

The mission of the Purchasing & Materials Management (Procurement) Department is to support the procurement of the material and equipment that are essential to providing governmental services for the citizens of Darlington County. The staff of the Department is dedicated to providing efficient and responsive service, while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the performing a variety of duties relating to the purchasing activities of the department and coordinating procurement functions for goods and services to support the operational needs of the County government in accordance with the established policies and procedures.


Responsible for performing duties related to routine and non-routine purchases; maintains and distributes MSDS reports; manages the Small Purchase Order Policy; manages office supply inventory, as well as Central Storage; assists with preparing and awarding contracts; and assists in vehicle/equipment maintenance contracts. Reports to the Finance/Materials Management Director.
