Purchasing & Materials Management
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Purchasing & Materials Management (Procurement) Department is to support the procurement of the material and equipment that are essential to providing governmental services for the citizens of Darlington County. The staff of the Department is dedicated to providing efficient and responsive service, while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of duties relating to purchasing activities of departments; coordinates procurement functions for goods and services to support the operational needs of County government in accordance with established policies and procedures; performs duties related to routine and non-routine purchases; manages purchasing cards and central supply inventory; assists with preparing and awarding contracts; and assists with vehicle/equipment maintenance contracts.
