The Clerk to Council serves as the official custodian of County Council records and provides administrative, legislative, and operational support to County Council and County Administration while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Council & Legislative Support
- Record, transcribe, maintain, and distribute the official proceedings of County Council meetings.
- Prepare ordinances, resolutions, proclamations, reports, and official correspondence.
- Monitor and report to County Council all impending vacancies on County Boards, Commissions, and Committees.
Records, Ordinances & Compliance
- Maintain the official registers of all proposed ordinances and resolutions.
- Compile, index, codify, and publish ordinances adopted by County Council.
- Preserve permanent legislative records and historical documents.
- Ensure all Council documents are properly executed, filed, and archived in accordance with state and local laws.
Public Notice & Transparency
- Ensure public hearings and County Council meetings are properly advertised and media notifications issued as required by law.
- Provide timely access to public information, agendas, minutes, ordinances, and other County resources.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Assist the County Administrator with administrative duties and special projects.
- Coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for County Council members.
- Prepare and maintain the County Council budget.
